Feeling peaceful

Looking at this pouch always calms me down... sometimes it is the simplicity that makes it special.

Sweet horror

I just love sweet skulls... here are my first two bags using this fabric by Alexander Henry

Both bags are Noodelhead patterns; the top one is the 241 tote and the bottom one the super tote. The 241 tote is slightly altered - I found it too narrow for me (I am 6 foot tall and if I make the original size it looks I stole the bag from a kid).
Both bags are available in my Dawanda shop.

Feeling Owly

I don't even know if owly is a proper word...
Even I finally got around to making a 241 tote (tutorial by Noodlehead can be bought here)

My quilt buddy Susanne (who happens to have a DaWanda Shop with beautiful fabric) inspired me to my latest project, to ake a belt for myself. Now, if you know me, you know that I am not generally a fan of wearing selfmade.. all the more reason to be surprised.
Back to the source of my inspiration: Susanne made a beautiful guitar strap from Anna Maria Horner Dowry fabric. I fell in love with the fabric and made myself this belt:

So cool...

Finally, I made a bag that I love! Simple and so, so cool....

You can find the pattern here... mine is a variation, I basically skipped all the parts which looked too tricky to me ;)

Hexies and EPP - continued

This is one of the latest baby quilts I made

Somehow I thought the flowers would stand out more, but I am happy with the result.

Not so modern

I made this quilt a while ago as a gift... and even though it is not modern, I like it very much. What do you think?

Sashiko purse

Ok, it is not a huge piece of work, but a nice size to try some sashiko stitching.

The thing I like best about it are the blue bobbits on the purse frame...
I have recently been getting into making purses, but for me, there are more rewarding purses to make than this. Anyway, it is finished and I wanted to share it with you.

I am still sewing little things and bags... here are the pouches I finished last week:

I was given a jacket a while ago and I really liked the fabric, but the fit was awful... so here it is in another shape. I decided I am going to use the case as a toilet bag as it is rather small.
You can find the pattern here....

Zitronenfalter pattern

I received a really nice inquiry lately about the pattern of my Zitronenfalter quilt, so I decided to share it with you. It is so simple, you will be surprised you did not catch it by yourself. Here is a picture of the finished quilt:

It is a single block quilt, here comes the block pattern:

And here you can see that the single block is just twisted by 90 degrees:

It is really hard to discover the pattern by just looking at the quilt. I have no idea if this has been shared by anyone else before, I have discovered it using EQ7.

I used the symmetry functionality in EQ7 (Electric Quilt). I am not sponsored by EQ, I am really convinced that this program saves me so much time and gives me so much inspiration, it is worth the money and investing some time in learning it. OK, initially I was a little overwhelmed with all those functionalities. But if you are not complete computer illiterate, you can discover the program by just clicking around. Well, ok, most of it at least. The things you cannot find out yourself, you can find on the internet, there are a lot of good help tutorials around.

Talk to you soon

Sampler quilt

Another baby quilt finished.

In preparation

.. for the next meeting of Bee Germany in May, I needed a little case or bag to carry my rotary cutter, needles, pincushion etc. In my search for a pattern, I came across this tutorial by thezenofmaking which I changed a little and this is the result:

It has a front pouch and two inner compartments, is very easy to make (excellent tutorial!) and really stable. Give it a try, even as a beginner.
